Description
All movements really start with the spine’s ability to move freely. Twisting the spine is one of the movements that triathletes don’t do so much of in their sports, and yet it is essential for good technique both in the water and when running. Not to mention how twisting can release tension built up in your back and outer hip muscles.
Start seated with a short warm-up, followed by various twists in supine and prone positions. Mobilise the spine doing cat/cows, practise various seated twists and then a few back bends. You will finish with a pose, that can easily become your favourite, called “cat pulling its tail” before taking rest for a couple of minutes.
This class is aimed at students of all levels. Please ensure you are practising in a suitable environment and spacious area.
